Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and activity. JunkMan Golf also uses browser storage mechanisms (localStorage and sessionStorage) for certain features, which are described below alongside cookies.
2. Cookies We Use
JunkMan Golf uses a limited number of cookies, all of which serve a functional or analytical purpose. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to third parties.
Authentication Cookies
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token | Keeps you signed in to JunkMan Golf. Contains an encrypted session token. This cookie is HTTP-only (not accessible to JavaScript) and is transmitted only over HTTPS in production. | 30 days |
| authjs.csrf-token | Protects against cross-site request forgery during authentication. Generated automatically by the authentication framework. | Session |
| authjs.callback-url | Remembers where to redirect you after signing in (for example, back to the page you were viewing). | Session |
| pending_invite_code | Temporarily stores a validated invite code during the sign-up flow so it can be applied to your new account. HTTP-only and automatically deleted after use. | 10 minutes |
Analytics Cookies
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| ph_* | Set by PostHog, our analytics provider. These cookies help us understand how people use JunkMan Golf so we can improve the experience. PostHog tracks page views, feature usage, and general interaction patterns. We do not use this data for advertising. | 1 year |
Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are also active on JunkMan Golf. These services collect anonymous performance data (page load times, web vitals) and do not set persistent cookies or track individual users across sites.
3. Browser Storage
In addition to cookies, JunkMan Golf uses browser storage for UI preferences that stay on your device and are never sent to our servers:
- localStorage: Saves your friend watch list selections and panel size preferences so they persist between visits
- sessionStorage: Remembers whether you've dismissed certain UI banners during your current browsing session
4. What We Do Not Use
JunkMan Golf does not use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook, Google Ads, etc.)
- Third-party cookies that track you across other websites
- Fingerprinting or other non-cookie tracking techniques
5. Managing Cookies
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. Be aware that disabling or clearing cookies will sign you out of JunkMan Golf and may reset your UI preferences.
Common browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
6. Changes to This Policy
If we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
7. Contact
Questions about our use of cookies can be directed to the JunkMan Golf team through the application or community channels.
